A Mirror Dimly?

In his first letter to the church at Corinth, the famed Apostle Paul tells us that “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.” How I long for the day when I see the Lover of My Soul face to face and know fully.

For now, I live, instead, with the “assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” While I wait eagerly for those unseen things, I will press on in humility. Going about life in our Ohio town. Learning, growing, and becoming as I go.

I will cling tenaciously to the things I know. To the things God has revealed in His Word. But, I’ll also acknowledge that there’s an awful lot that I don’t know. My vision is foggy and sometimes I can only make out the edges. Like one peering through a rain-soaked window or a fogged up mirror, I am mindful of my own limitations.in a mirror dimly

So, this will be my forum for considering, reflecting, pondering. A place to muse over the things I observe and learn along the way – however obscure or small those things might be. A place to contemplate the glimpses of reality that God gives us in the day to day goings on of life. Those glimpses bring the picture into clearer view.

I don’t anticipate profundity but simplicity. After all, I see in a mirror dimly.
